Division C teams from all states are welcome. All teams must be registered with their home state Science Olympiad organization in order to qualify to attend. Registration status will be checked with state directors and strictly enforced.
We have the capacity to host up to 45 teams.
An invitational is a “practice” tournament held before regional competitions so teams can have a chance to compete, perfect their devices, and gauge the difficulty of exams and labs. For rookie members, it serves as an opportune training camp. Rankings at an invitational do not count towards regional or state advancement. However, teams still show up to invitationals guns blazing and well-prepared to compete, so do not let the word “practice” fool you!
Registration will open on September 6th, 2016, at 12pm EST.
The registration fee is $103 per team. Schools sending two teams will pay $206.
The deadline for registration is December 31st, 2016. However, last year, we reached capacity and closed registration on October 1st.
No. Though our primary audience is intended to be schools in New York, particularly NYC and Long Island, Connecticut, and eastern Pennsylvania, due to a lack of invitationals in the New England region, registration is strictly on a first come, first serve basis only. A Virginia team that registers on the first day will be taken first.
No. We realize that many teams do not have the funds to register in their state before our deadline. Teams need not be registered before registering for YUSO.
All teams must be registered with their state by December 31st, 2016, or they will not be allowed to participate.
We ask that all teams pay electronically. If this presents a problem, please contact us about it.
