Yale Invitational 2016
The third annual Science Olympiad Division C Invitational Tournament at Yale University will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 on Yale's historic campus in New Haven, Connecticut, conveniently located within a two hour's drive from New York and an hour from most of Connecticut. The competition is entirely run by Yale undergraduate students under the mentorship of Brendan Herlihy, Connecticut State Science Olympiad Director.
Though invitational tournaments generally rely on the participating schools and teams to write exams and bring everything required for events, we take a different approach. All materials will be furnished by YUSO members and Yale faculty and departments. Exams will be written by Yale students, event supplies bought with the organization's budget, and venues paid for by the group through Yale as well. Contrary to the local public high schools that usually hold such tournaments, we have enough resources to help carry the tournament from start to finish, and intend to do exactly that. However, coaches are still expected to assist in running and supervising events, as with all other SO competitions, and there is also a registration fee. Other than that, teams need only register and show up prepared to compete!
